“All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night, in the dusty recesses of their minds, wake in the day to find that it was vanity;
but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, to make it possible." - T.E. Lawrence
okay, i think i'm going to start this weekly review thing. it's quite therapeutic, and that way i dont feel like i have to update every single day, but the blog is still alive. yaaay.
monday, 290310 first day of DJW! was quite excited, pastor jeremy seaward was speaking, and he's spoken at YM before and he was REALLY good, so obviously, i was looking forward to it. and when i said that he was good looking everyone looked at me like "what the, he's a pastor!" but whats wrong with being a pastor and being good looking! and really, he's quite handsome what! anyway, he was good. so HA! made me really excited for the next two days so yaay :)
tuesday, 300310 second day. good again, no need to say. i was quite glad because i could literally feel God stirring, like He's sitting quietly in the back row, or just watching everything from afar and waiting for the right moment to step out. it was quite amazing, and i sorted sensed Him telling me that lives were going to change in those 3 days. and seriously, nothing makes you look forward to a school day more than something like that. so yeah, it was really refreshing having pastor seaward speak. the message he was preaching was really simple, but really needed because i think it kind of helped everyone revisit the basics of God. and he's really funny too, so every actually listened which was fantastic.
other than that, normal school day, normal tuition afterwards.
wednesday, 310310 and then the third day! i don't think i've ever felt as spiritual and revived in church as i did on that day. it was woooonderful~ and when pastor seaward did the "alter call" and just feeling so many people around standing up, woah. God really pulled through for us. loved loved loved the entire thing. God is great (:
"Let the cross draw man to You"
thursday, 010410 THURSDAY! april fools, but nothing very exciting in the pranking area this year, sadly ): maybe next time. but on the other hand, we had the girls from Wesley Girls' High School in Taiwaaan come to MG, and I was one of the hosts so we brought them around, yadda yadda yadda. the tiring part was after school, when we were supposed to take them around Singapore for sight seeing and whatever. We went shopping. At orchard and somerset. Which I think is loooads better than what the tour agencies would usually have them do, because they get to see was real teenagers do in Singapore, where they do it and how they do it :D
tiring of course, i went home to bathe, change, and get some extra cash we needed before meeting them at ION. then everything was kind of rushed and hurried and getting to clarke quay and dinner and getting back to their hotel was SO EXHAUSTING. we must have waited for the 51 bus for over half an hour, all while laoshi was frantically trying to find out where we were cos we were reaaaally late. when we finally reached the hotel, i think the teachers got kinda "whaa...?" at me because i was the only one not in school uniform, eek. scary stuff.
but it was fun and I've never had to use so much chinese in my entire life. hopefully something good comes out of that.
friday, 020410 GOOD FRIDAY! Praise the Lord for dying for our sins on this day. couldn't make it for church service 'cos of all the other grrr stuff that i had to do. tuition, work, errands, blah blah. but the good thing is mummy took us out to watch Clash of the Titans which is preeeeetty good. i didn't realise this before, but Percy Jackson completely ripped the plot off this movie. like, COMPLETELY. it was probbaly intentional but still, some creativity people?
saturday, 030410 tuition in the mooorn~ ugh. then lazed around at home watching movies and eating chips heh. until about 5, and then i was in a mad rush getting ready for THE TEMPEST. rushed over to cafe cartel and met the class (or maybe like, half of it) there for dinner. ate, talked, and got quite pissed off. but nevermind! once we reached the Esplanade and got in our seats i calmed down. the play was surprisingly pretty interesting. didn't fall asleep once, although the beginning was quite hard to understand. Shakespearian english is really gorgeous, but i think modern plays should at least tweak the speech A LITTLE so that young punks like us understand it, no?
sunday, 040410 i woke up in the morning feeling like p diddy and it was raining and the sky was overcast and i was like "mmmmmm~ cozy" haha. it was fantastic, plus it was easter so Praise the Lord. and then church after that. the Easter production was pretty cool haha, and then sermon for awhile and then we have small group. went out for lunch afterwards and to buy the cake for *ahem* and along the way, melody and i convinced the guys to take neoprints! HAHA which was superbly amusing but they turned out quite nice (:
music recommendation! EVERYONE GO LISTEN TO THE BURNING HOTELS. They are one of the best indie bands from this decade, for me at least. They have a myspace, twitter and yeah they were in Bandslam, but hey, the movie soundtrack is actually really good. I suggest you listen to Stuck In The Middle and Lovely Lovely Lady. wheee~
